The Cordon is a coterie group of businesspeople who assist to financially support the Banyule
Cricket club in its quest to provide a safe and supportive community environment for cricketers
of all genders.
The Cordon members have the benefit of networking in a relaxed and collaborative atmosphere
during the two seasonal luncheons organized by the Banyule Cricket Club. The guest
presenters at these luncheons are usually from the business or sporting sector.
Cordon members also know that 10% of their contributions are donated to the Zamasa
Foundation. Zamasa was set up in memory of Greg Arandt a very much-loved Banyule
cricketer who unfortunately succumbed to multiple myeloma in May 2023.
Zamasa is a research foundation focused on leading edge exploration of multiple myeloma with
a specific bias towards genetic advances in immunotherapy. It hopes to provide patients with
longevity and an enhanced quality of life. Zamasa’s continued research will hopefully lead to
this disease being curable or in the very least manageable as a long-term chronic condition.
